The Overhead Cover (OHC) is a rapidly deployable protective system designed to shield personnel and assets from overhead threats in forward-operating environments. Built with a dual-layer structure, the top layer triggers mortar fuses while the second layer arrests shrapnel, ensuring maximum protection where it’s needed most. OHC units can be mounted on MPS walls, concrete T-walls, or Hesco barriers, and are available in multiple widths and lengths to meet mission-specific demands—without the need for heavy machinery.
Edwards Design and Fabrication, Inc., is the licensed manufacturer of OHC systems, and we are authorized to deliver them to government and commercial customers. We have supported the OHC program from its inception, fabricating test units, producing deployed hardware, and contributing to design improvements. Extensive explosive testing has proven its effectiveness.

Each OHC kit is shipped in labeled crates within 20 ft. ISO containers. Kits include all structural components, extension options, and detailed assembly guides for rapid field deployment.
Do I need heavy machinery to deploy it?
Not for standard 20-foot kits. OHC is engineered for fast, soldier-powered deployment with no earth-filling, power tools, or heavy machinery required. Larger configurations may benefit from light equipment depending on size and terrain.
How large can the system be built?
OHCs are available in widths from 22.5 ft. to 52.5 ft. (in 7.5 ft. increments) and can be extended in 10 ft. lengths to fit mission-specific needs.
